Lutheran basketball star Walt Hill, Jr., was voted the Rockford Register Star athlete of the week for his performance from Feb. 27-March 4.
Hill, who scored 35 points to spark Lutheran's 65-58 win over Aurora Christian in Friday's Johnsburg sectional title game, earned 44.5% of the votes to edge Byron basketball player Macy Groharing who had 42.8%.
Voting for the next athlete of the week begins Tuesday. The full list of nominees runs online at rrstar.com on Tuesdays and in print Wednesdays. Winners are announced online Fridays and in print on Sundays.
