The Chicago Cubs announced that they have traded reliever Michael Rucker to the Philadelphia Phillies for cash considerations.
Rucker was recently designated for assignment by the Cubs after they signed veteran reliever Hector Neris.
Rucker, who had been with the Cubs organization for three seasons, struggled to find consistent success during his time on the Northside.
Last season, he posted a 4.91 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP across 35 appearances, indicative of his challenges on the mound.
The Phillies made room for Rucker as right-handed pitcher Andrew Bellatti was designated for assignment.
